Pocket PC programming Part 2: Quote of the Day. Access web service using PPC emulator

I noticed that some people have problems writing a Pocket PC (PPC) program that access the web service in the same notebook, using Visual Studio 2005. Symptoms are: cannot contact web service, intermittent problems accessing the web service, etc. These problems happen especially when you are using the PPC emulator to test the program. The following is the solution (step-by-step instructions).

Developing a “Quote of the Day” program and Web Service
  • This is a simpler program compared with the "Previojus related post". It focuses only on the pocket PC program that invokes the web service, but EXCLUDES SQL Servers. Doing this simple practical helps you to verify whether the IIS and web service is working fine.
